Set up in 1932, FontanaArte is one of the Italian design companies that made “the history of light” in Italy and in the world. Founded by an architect, the company has always retained a strong link with the world of design, collaborating with some of the best Italian and international architects and lighting designers. The result of this collaboration was the creation of a true cultural approach to design, an original “point of view” on architecture, lighting and furnishings.

A design culture which, being based on the prevalent use of noble materials (mainly glass), found its main inspiration in the interaction between technology and beauty, generating a series of timeless and beautiful objects, some of which have become design classics and are exhibited in some of the world’s most important museums.

Research and innovation are constant features of the FontanaArte company policy, in particular with regards to the use of recyclable materials with low environmental impact: from blown glass, industrial sheet glass, aluminum, iron and high quality plastics, to packaging materials, all fully recyclable and reduced to a minimum.

HOPE, Award-Winning Signature Design

Inspired by nature our modern reinterpretation of the chandelier uses the most advanced materials and fabrication available- patented polycarbonate petals with holographic fresnel lensing that maximize refractions and reduce energy consumption.  Surprisingly lightweight, the 3-fixture tier is 6-1/2′ wide x 10+’ tall and only 60 pounds so no ceiling reinforcement is required.

Within one year of introduction the Hope has received significant recognition and awards including Italy’s top design awards- the Compasso D’Oro as well as the Premio dei Premi, a Red Dot Award and a Good Design Award.  Stocked in the US just outside of NYC delivery times are only 5-7 business days via ground and the 6-1/2′ diameter fixture was designed to fold into half for shipping & lightweight so coast to coast delivery is only $300 vs. 2-3K for custom 8′+ square crate.  The tier configuration is also brand new with floor, ceiling, and wall versions releasing later this year for an expanded family of products.
