Marset…a company that knows how to endure and reinvent itself over the years, continues to do so.
Through the application of technical precision and creativity, with the aim of discovering new functions and providing other uses, Marset looks towards the future. This constant quest for new directions, combined with its curiosity and ability to envisage the shape of things to come, has led to the different pieces in the collection, characterized by an authentic feel, with a simplicity suffused with meaning, or the decorative factor integrated with a restrained approach.

SPOTLIGHT ON PRODUCT

SCANTLING by Mathias Hahn, 2010
A combination of basic geometric shapes and the use of wood together with metal give this range of lamps a homely appearance, at the same time as a clearly defined personality. All of the movements of the fully rotating shade use arms and hinges, and its technical precision means that springs or counterweights are not necessary in order to maintain the selected position.
Scantling is a term used to define the size to which a piece of wood or stone is measured and cut, derived from the name of an old unit of measurement. The interplay of the different elements used in its design gives this lamp an archetypal, almost graphic appearance.
Created in the 1940s as a family business dedicated to casting metals, Marset has applied the knowledge acquired from decades of experience to make it a trademark with a young outlook, together with a solid market presence and global vocation. Its products are sold in more than forty countries, and as it enters each new market it turns to designers from different backgrounds with an international perspective.
